The Bahama Pintail Duck is small duck, weighing an average of 1.5-2 lbs. found in South America, the Caribbean, and most often on the Galapagos Islands. The hens weigh just slightly more than the drakes. Also known as the White Cheeked Pintail because of its white cheeks, the Bahama Pintail is not a brightly colored duck but has a bright red patch on the sides of its bills and so it can't be confused with any other ducks in its area.
The Bahama Pintail prefers brackish water, such as lakes, inlets, or swamps. Like other similar duck species, this duck breed feeds on aquatic plants and sometimes small invertebrates. They always nest on the ground in dense vegetation, and they prefer to be close to water.
They are presently available as male/female pairs, and are one year old.
