Some people prefer a smaller, lighter bird for fryers and these will fill that bill. They are white feathered, yellow skinned, light breed cockerel chicks from either our White Leghorns. They are delicious fryers but will take longer to reach butchering size. They will not be as large as Cornish X Rock or Cornish Roasters. Many of our customers buy the Frying Pan Special for butchering and raise them with the pullets they order.
As a reminder, to help ensure a safe arrival to you, the minimum number of chicks for each order prior to April 1st is 25.
On and after April 1st, the minimum number of chicks required is 15. You can mix and match any type of baby chick in your order to reach the applicable chick minimum order. If ordering any bantams, we require a minimum of 15 bantams per order.

We got our 100+ fryers super fast!! They must have found a direct flight to make the 3300 mile trip to Alaska so quickly! All are so happy & healthy. This is my second 30 lot order from Murray McMurray. My first batch were the large meat bird Jumbo cross; my second lot are the Cornish Cross.
The first jumbo birds were just that, Thanksgiving all year long. The average dressed weight was over 8 lbs. The largest tipped the scale at just shy of 11 lbs at 9 weeks. I'm trying the Cornish cross for a smaller bird. These folks are pros at what they do. Order with confidence.
