Designed for the backyard and urban farmer, the Handcrafted Portable Chicken Ark/Coop is an affordable and space efficient home for your backyard chickens. The coop provides a healthy, predator-proof home for up to 4 medium hens or 6 bantams. All Handcrafted Coops are made using plantation-grown Douglas Fir timber. Douglas Fir has a natural woody scent that repels insects. Coops are stained with a non-toxic, weather resistant stain. The covered run gives both hens, and costly feed, good weather protection. Features include: one full-length door allowing easy access to the lower run for feeding and watering or to let the chickens exit and roam free, one nesting box with an external egg collection door, a removable side door for easy cleaning of the upper roosting chamber, and sturdy carrying handles for easy portability. The Portable Chicken Ark is hand-made and flat-packed for easy shipping and simple assembly. SHIPPING IN THE CONTIGUOUS 48 STATES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. Overall size 5'L (includes the handles) x 4'2"W x 3'5"H.
Very easy assembly; everything fit together perfectly, with exactly the right number of parts. The parts were packed very carefully, and arrived in pristine condition. The design itself is well conceived. It's also remarkably lightweight, but feels very sturdy.
I haven't put birds in it yet, but I'm fairly sure they'll love it.
I've purchased and assembled three prefabricated mini-coops, and this is already my favorite by far.
