Customer Product Reviews
Built by an amazing 4-man crew (2 Naval officers, a Marine, and an Air Force officer), this house made it possible for us city slickers to raise a flock of 12 hens. The aviary is essential because of hawks, owls, and other varmints. We put straw on the ground in the winter and grass clippings in the growing season. Cleanout was easy, and provided us with great mulch/fertilizer for our young trees. We built this in 1999 and it's still in great shape.
We had contractors build us this house. We did not have electricity to it this year and this year was record cold here in the midwest,(Keokuk,Iowa). The birds did fine and we still got alot of eggs. I would recommend it. We customized it with a cement floor and galvanized trays that pull out the back for easy cleaning. Nice House!
I built this coop and have 25 very happy healthy hens and one proud rooster. They are clean and east to care for because of the design. Thank you!
