I have always used broiler starter if possible but if not chick starter also works. I always use crumbles or pellets to start them. if your chicks were not vaccinated for cocsidiosis make sure you use medicated feed.I switch my meat birds over to a grower type feed at around 5 or 6 weeks. Cornish type birds need lots of protein in their diet or else the meat will be tougher so unless you can hammer your grains to a 20% protein it is often best to just continue feeding formulated pellets or crumble as a grower and finsisher.
