Rare exotic question (6 messages)

I received a "rare exotic" breed and am a bit concerned...
It it black with a skull like cap. Bald on the neck and under wings. Looks a bit like a turkey vulture haha
Anyone know the breed?
Also, should I be worried about a lump that seems to sit on one side of ita neck? Is the normal for the breed?
Thank you.

That would be a Turken. They do not have feathers on their neck. If you had the chicks vaccinated for Marek's Disease, the lump may be from that. It will go away in a couple days.

I did not have them vaccinated, but maybe they do for the rare one. I will keep an eye and be back in touch if there are any changes. All seem healthy! Thank you for the reply!

Survived our first winter in Montana. Girls did well even when it got to -22.
The lump on the side of the neck is probably it's crop. That is the first stop in the digestive system of a bird.
