Survived our first winter in Montana. Girls did well even when it got to -22.
I've read that you should have 4 square feet of coop space for every chicken and 10 square feet of run for every chicken. You have 450 square feet of coop which could hold over 100 birds. No crowding at your house. Wish I'd had the money to build such a large coop. It's great that you can give your birds the extra space. Your coop is wonderfully large. I have 12 chickens in a 48 square feet coop. My run gives the chickens a tiny bit less than the suggested 10 square feet per bird. As soon as the snow melts they will be roaming in a large area enclosed by 400 feet of electric poultry netting.
