I purchase some Red Star pullets this past March that arrived with green, numbered leg bands. I haven't taken them off figuring, in case they wander, the bands would be a good identifier. Just want to make sure that leaving them on is safe and they can't outgrow the bands. OK to leave them on?

Survived our first winter in Montana. Girls did well even when it got to -22.
Keep an eye on the bands. Make sure they don't get tight as the chicks grow.
