City backyard hens (4)/country free range hens and breeding trios, cows, pigs, fishing, hunting with time. Retired.
I had my chicks vaccinated for Marek's and Coccidiosis.
I purchase one 5 pound bag of P_____A Chick Start & Grow feed. With 39 chicks this did not last long. Then went to medicated starter since larger store/larger bags only cared Medicated started. Backyard Poultry Mag. (April-May) Artl. "Chick Nutrition/Start to Finish" states that Medicated starter will kill the Coccidosis egg virus acting as vaccination. Did I err or was a 5-6 days long enough to complete the immunity action as planned in vaccination process?? Should I go back to Natural Non-Med?
