I'm looking for tips and tricks on integrating new poults with an already established flock.
We got 15 babies from McMurray in May and our Black Spanish hen hatched ten in June. The older babies are all feathered out now and ready to move from their nursery to the turkey yard outside. Every once in a while we'll let the younger poults outside with them and they all get along nicely.
The problem has been with the grownups. The mama hen chases the older poults so they can't live in the house with her and her kids, and the daddy tom beats them up so they can't live outside with him.
We ended up harvesting daddy tom so the big kids can stay outside. Is there a way to introduce poults and adults to each other and maintain some semblance of peace?
