I am trying to hatch in an incubator for the first time. I am on day 9. Yesterday, I unplugged and removed the cover to add water. I forgot to plug it back up and this morning when I went to check on it, it was at 79 degrees. Shoul I just toss and start over? Or do you think they just might survive?
Thanks

Survived our first winter in Montana. Girls did well even when it got to -22.
Let's try this again.

Don't toss the eggs yet. There is a chance. The inside temperature of the eggs could be warmer than the air temperature. Give them 4 or 5 days then candle to see if you have any live chicks.

Just candled the eggs and I did lose almost half. But the good news is I think I still have 17 viable eggs. Now, if they'd just all be layers! :-0!

BTW, I read lots of stuff on candling and nothing said I see the chicks moving around in there! That was an exciting surprise!

Thank you for the update. It's great that you still have some eggs that are okay.
