How sensitive are eggs to the temperature in the first week or two after they are laid? I know that temperature drops later on can kill the developing chicks, but what about in the first week? I have a hen that went broody, but after 3 days she decided she wanted to sit in a different nesting box and I didn't catch it until the eggs had dropped to room temperature. Does that mean the eggs will never hatch, or can they handle the temperature drop this early in the cycle?
