I ordered a gosling and duckling and it is scheduled to be here this week. Will I get a notification when it is shipped so I can know when to expect them? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

McMurray Hatchery
The ducks and geese ship on Monday for arrival between Tuesday and Thursday. Sorry, we do not send a notification with the duck orders....hopefully in the future it will be available. Your PO will call when the birds arrive.

You would think if you are spending $45 for shipping, hopefully being shipped Express for $45 that a tracking # would be emailed. IT is very easy to do. I am waiting for an order and thought a tracking # would be sent today so I can know when they will arrive but have received nothing.

I received the ducks and thankfully all of them arrived alive. I was very upset about the shipping being $45 when the shipping cost from CA to AZ cost only $8 as they ship them priority not express. I was thinking they must have used some expensive shipping supplies since they charged me $45 but nothing was "special". The ducks come from CA not Iowa. Murray Mcmurray hatchery must drop ship their orders by getting other hatcheries to fulfill them. A tracking # would be VERY easy to do so I don't understand why they don't send those out and don't understand why they don't let people know duck orders are shipped priority. Thank goodness my order was not lost in the mail as priority shipping is not a guaranteed shipping service and the post office actually has 14 days to get the order delivered to you. I know this because I ship live aquarium plants priority and 5% of the time USPS loses the package. I would hate to see ducks get lost in the mail.

I was watching for a tracking number and, to be honest, getting a bit anxious like a parent wondering where their children were. By digging around in the site, I discovered that I could log into my account, click on the order number, and find the shipping information to track it.

We ordered 10 ducklings. Our experience was horrible as they all arrived dead. Similar to HEATHER16 in this thread, they charged WAY to much for shipping and did not refund the shipping cost for the ducks that all perished during five days of transit. They shipped from CA to ID....I could have driven that distance and the ducks would not have died. VERY disappointed!

I am very concerned I just got my notification that my ducks and goselings were shipping from California not Iowa. I live in very northern Maine. I order from murray McMurray because they are in Iowa and its a quicker ship especially up here. I am worried after reading this thread and im going to call and question them about this today. Its definitely something that should be in FAQS if they are drop shipping

Just to clarify...when the ducks are shipped you do or do not get a tracking number? Like several others I chose Murray McMurray because they were in Iowa and I live in Tennessee. I had a terrible experience in the past from another company and they too came from CA. Very concerned about these animals and do not want to open a box with dead ducklings again.

Hi Amy,
They do send tracking. If you look above I was in the same boat. They did ship from California. They arrive on time though. When I opened the box they were fluffy and everything was fine and appeared healthy. However Later in the day I lost 1. It just was so odd. I have 3 ducks i have already raised i know water should be room temp, tand basic starting care. I dont understand it. It was fine and just fell over barely breathing.
And only lived a few minutes after. The next day another. They refunded me but thats not the point. I figured maybe it was just because the muscovys are fragile. Than Saturday i lost a cayuga. Same thing was fine than just all of a sudden was falling over. Half my ducks are gone. I have 2 cayugas and 1 muscovy left. The goselings were quite healthy with no problems. I hope you have better luck than myself. My hubby is pissed.

If you log in to your Murray McMurray account and click on the order number, you'll be able to see the shipping number and information. It would be nice if that information was shared with your order confirmation.

Thank you Linda!! I was worried because when I did get the tracking # it said delivery by Saturday at 9PM. I did see that this order and my previous order from the other company were both shipped from the same location so I am thinking that they come from the same breeder in California. Thankfully they arrived today (earlier than the tracking # said) and all seem to be fine and are more active than the last shipment I got from the other company. Crossing my fingers it goes well.
