As a poultry judge, I see many FFA youth at the county fairs. Most of these young people enter meat (broiler) pens and are not very familiar with standard-bred poultry. I strongly recommend that the FFA advisors become APA/ABA members and obtain a copy of the latest poultry standards as reference guides for their students. In addition, I also recommend obtaining a copy of the UCCE publication, "POULTRY SHOWMANSHIP", 4H-2060, so that these young people can learn the basics for poultry showmanship.

If these publications are adhered to, the FFA youth will be much more informed and competitive at their respective county fairs.

Do you have any links for those PDF's? I've applied to grad school for Ag Education, so I'd appreciate any education documents.
I grew up around cattle/goats and am not very informed concerning Chicken judging.
