Called the flower garden of the poultry world, Bantams are miniature chickens, usually one-fourth to one-fifth the size of standard varieties. Because of their many different types and assortments of color patterns, raising bantams is rapidly becoming one of today’s most popular hobbies. Little is known of the origin of bantams although they are believed to have come from the Orient.

Bantams are my favorites! They only are about 2-3 lbs. full grown.

There are different sizes of bantams according to the different breeds. Some bantam roosters are normally 22 ounces at full maturity. Some can be 36 ounces at full maturity. It all depends on the different breeds of bantam chickens.

I'm WI girl who's had chickens for 9 years and experienced a ton in that time!
I love bantam leghorns especially the roosters. The hens are like a light morning dove. And so much personality!
