For those of us living in S. Florida.
Please list the
breeds that you have had the most success with and the breeds with the least success.
Which are the most heat tolerant and still continue to lay.
Which succumb to the summer heat and humidity and rain?
This can be useful information especially for new chicken owners.

I have had excellent results with Rhode Island Reds/Production Reds here in east Central Florida. They have continued laying even through our hottest summers. They seem to taper off a tiny bit during December/January but not enough to worry about. Absolutely no losses due to the heat.

On the other hand, my brother in law, who lives nearby, works with Buff Orpingtons and these seem to shut down quite a bit during the hottest periods.
