I am new to this forum, but an old timer to McMurray, from whom I have been ordering peeps for years, decades really. just placed an order for chicks, and about to place another for ducklings and goslings. Wanted to recommend a couple of good resources on ducks. One is Carol Deppe's "The Resilient Gardener," and the other is Dave Holderread's "Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks." Just bought those two books, and they have a wealth of info beyond what I thought I knew. Excellent guide to breeds, and also both are proponents of keeping ducks rather than chickens for eggs. This can be a factor of your local climate.
