I dont know about that we got my kids a pair of duck last easter form the flea market fine at fist, once the male got mature run for your life he atackes me kids he bites bad to the point of leaving brused marks. we only thake them out when there in school, there terrified of him, is that normal?

I know that ducks can be as protective as geese. I do not know what you need to do for this particular duck, but if you get little ducklings and handle them gently everyday, they are more likely to be friendly. The egg laying breeds, like the Runners and Campbells, tend to be more nervous. I have heard that Cayugas and Rouens are more friendly. The Rouens we had years ago were friendly. Maybe someone who is a current owner of ducks can help you more.

We have Rouens and they are frendly. You should try to get the ducks as early as you an and handle them alot. This helps. You may just want to try getting a different duck.
