I have a covered run that is enclosed and have a coop under the same roof. Can I count the square feet of the whole area (300sf) or just the enclosed coop (32sf) Most of my flock roost outside in the run, but go inside to the nesting boxes to lay the eggs. I am going to order more chicks soon. I have had no problems for a few years with 20 birds, but am going to bring in more some for eggs andsome for meat

No more than 10 adult birds in a coop that size for good sustainability and humane conditions- maybe 15 or twenty bantams at the most.
