McMurray Hatchery Buff Brahma
Buff Brahma chickens are very large and have the same quiet temperament of other Brahma varieties, but are still very rare.

The Brahma is a very old Asiatic, feather-footed breed of chicken brought to New England by Chinese clipper ships in the late 1800s. Brahmas are exceptionally quiet, gentle and easy to handle. Their small pea comb, immense size and heavy feathering make them almost immune to cold weather.

The color pattern of the Buff Brahma is the similar to the Light Brahma — with black markings on the hackle and tail feathers — except that the white sections are replaced by golden buff. These are truly regal and beautiful birds with their buff and black coloring, and great size.

Buff Brahma hens are good brown egg layers — especially in winter — are likely to set, and make good mothers to their young.
