Cuckoo Maran, started pullets

The Cuckoo Marans received their name from the French town of Marans but most of the North American Marans are of English extraction.

The Marans were developed in the early 1900’s as a dual purpose bird; for either meat or eggs. The tight textured plumage is marked across the body with black and white bands similar to the Barred Plymouth Rocks but slightly different. The males have a lighter, more like faded grey color whereas the females have a richer darker color. The Marans are great layers of chocolate brown eggs. These are also a rare breed and only a limited supply are available.

Our pullets are supplemented with an All Natural Feed and they’re not debeaked for maximum foraging abilities; also all our pullets have been fully vaccinated for the prevention of diseases.
