The Light Brahma is a very old breed of feather-footed chickens that originated from Asia. The Light variety is one of the first varieties of the breed recognized by the American Standard of Perfection.

Light Brahmas are exceptionally quiet, gentle, and easy to handle. Their small pea comb, great size, and heavy feathering make them almost immune to cold weather. Hens are good brown egg layers, especially in winter, are likely to set, and make good mothers to their young.
