Soldiers returning from China brought the first Cochin bantams to England in the 1860’s. They were known as “Pekin” bantams then and are still referred to as “Pekins” in many parts of Europe. Cochins are heavily feathered down the shanks and toes and appear to be much larger than they actually are. They are very gentle, excellent setters, require little space, and with their many color varieties are absolutely beautiful to look at. Cochins are the most popular of the feather legged bantams and one of our best setters. Cochins have a lustrous, greenish black base color with many of the feathers tipped in white - a color contrast that really makes them stand out in a flock.
As a reminder, to help ensure a safe arrival to you, the minimum number of chicks for each order prior to April 1st is 25.
On and after April 1st, the minimum number of chicks required is 15. You can mix and match any type of baby chick in your order to reach the applicable chick minimum order. If ordering any bantams, we require a minimum of 15 bantams per order.

Customer Product Reviews
I received a Mottled Cochin Bantam rooster last summer and love, love, love our "Cornelius". He is a lucky guy with 19 full sized hens of all ages. He is sweet and everyone who sees him thinks he's the cutest thing they have ever seen! He has a little crow and fun to watch him run! HA HA HA
I love this breed. They are very calm and good for showing! They will get a lot of attention because of their dots! ~God~bless~
Our family placed an order 3 years ago and our Mottled Cochin Sarah is the delight of the hen house, vibrant colors , friendly and very social highly recommend!
Thank-you so much for hours of fun!
Christopher, originally Christina, is now 1 1/2 years old and beautiful! He is a mottled Cochin Bantam. He rules the roost of 15 female cochin bantams and 3 big egg layers! Other roosters were mean, but Christopher protects his flock carefully as they all free range. Peter Rennie 11years old 4-H-er.
Of all the banties these are my favorites. They are beautiful chicks, teenagers and adults. They seem to be very responsive to human interaction when handled a lot. I love the way they move about with a very definitive waddle.
