Soldiers returning from China brought the first Cochin bantams to England in the 1860’s. They were known as “Pekin” bantams then and are still referred to as “Pekins” in many parts of Europe. Cochins are heavily feathered down the shanks and toes and appear to be much larger than they actually are. They are very gentle, excellent setters, require little space, and with their many color varieties are absolutely beautiful to look at. Cochins are the most popular of the feather legged bantams and one of our best setters. The male's saddle and hackle feathers are a rich, brilliant orange-red which when combined with the greenish black body makes for an extremely attractive bird. The female is feathered with a glossy mahogany brown feather penciled in black. A very popular Cochin.
As a reminder, to help ensure a safe arrival to you, the minimum number of chicks for each order prior to April 1st is 25.
On and after April 1st, the minimum number of chicks required is 15. You can mix and match any type of baby chick in your order to reach the applicable chick minimum order. If ordering any bantams, we require a minimum of 15 bantams per order.

Customer Product Reviews
These are such cute chicks and are fun to watch grow up. I have 29 and just ordered another 33 today. I can't wait to hatch my own of these beautifull birds. I would recommend this breed of chickens to anyone. Thanks, McMurray for the great chickens. Sincerely, Mason Lindaman, Ackley IA
I just got 36 partridge cochin bantams, and they are so cute. I can't wait for them to start laying eggs so I can hatch them. I have ordered them from McMurray in previous years. They are easy to take care of. I would recommend this breed of bantams to anyone.
Thank you Murray McMurray hatchery for the great birds. I look forward to ordering some more in the future.
Partridge cochin Bantams are by far my favorite breed of chickens.
They are excellent mothers and lay fairly well. They also make beautiful show birds with their striking colors and shape.
