This has always been one of our favorite varieties because it was about the first one raised by Dad. In 1917, the first time he made an exhibit at the Iowa State Fair, he won a blue ribbon on his prize Black Minorca cockerel, and it gave him a thrill he never got over. The Minorcas are the largest of the Mediterranean Class and the Blacks are perhaps the finest examples of their class. They lay large white eggs, are non-setters. Click to Enlarge
