No Freeze Heater Base

Thermostatically controlled so that the base will not heat unless the temperatures are cold enough to be needed. The thermostat keeps the water from overheating and the base at a safe temperature. Carries a 1 year guarantee; 80 watt, 115 volt will keep founts open in single digits in a sheltered area. Not designed for outdoor use. Manufacturer suggests setting on stone or bricks to raise. 3" high and 16" diameter UL Listed and safe for any waterer on the market!

Mine isn't keeping the water from freezing. Is there a bulb or something I can change out?
Since we are not sure what temperatures you are experiencing, please see notes below. Sorry, we do not sell any replacement parts for this unit. This unit is designed to keep founts open as low as 10 degrees temp in sheltered area. Works best at 10-32 degrees. You may want to test the outlet to be sure it is working.

How long is the electrical cord on the heater base? Can it be ordered with a longer power cord?
The chord on the No Freeze Heater Base is 68" from plug to pan.

Can this product be used with a 2 gallon metal fount? We just have three chickens and built the coop in the corner of our old shed and built a covered outdoor pen they can access from the coop. The pen has a metal roof and we are planning to cover it with plastic during the winter. This is going to be their first winter and I am a bit confused as to whether this product is to be used inside the coop or in the pen. Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated.
The heater base can be used with any size galvanized waterer. It is intended for indoor use only. So put it inside your coop instead of out in the pen.
