Originating in the Rio Grande Valley, these wild turkeys are very similar to the Broad Breasted Bronze turkeys but are much smaller. Females can be distinguished from the males by a presence of white tips on the breast feathers, pink skin on the head and neck, and absence of spurs. Most males will have beards upon maturity.
