In general carriage the Spanish are graceful and stylish. The rich glossy black plumage, the large red comb, and the long pendulous white face and ear lobes present a striking and different appearance. They are non-setters, lay white eggs, and are the same size as Minorcas. They are thought to be the oldest breed in the Mediterranean class of fowl. The white face of our Spanish is very slow to develop. Please allow the birds to go through one molt before showing them.

Customer Product Reviews
We love our "racing chicken" which is what we call our particular white faced hen. Ours seems to be far more inquisitive and engaging than any of the other breeds we keep. She doesn't lay quite as often as the heavier girls but is a far more satisfactory pet than the others. If I had to raise one breed this would be my first choice.
These chickens are sooooooooooo fancy and cool! The white face on these guys really make them stand out! Thanks for such great birds.
These chickens are sooooo cool and fancy! I reccomend these to everybody!
We ordered a pair of White Faced Black Spanish several years ago and they have been a beautiful addition to our farm. The hen is a consistent layer and the male, with extrememly large spurs, is suprisingly gentle. Thanks McMurray hatchery, we have been very pleased.
