These massive Asiatic fowl are covered with an extraordinary abundance of soft, fluffy, golden buff feathers from tip to toe. They were introduced from China in the mid 1800's, known as Shanghais, and created a sensation wherever shown. They are poor layers, but good setters and beautiful show birds.

When we got our first McMurray chicken, our exotic chicken was a Buff Cochin. Since then she has become such a joy around the property. Because she was so much larger than any other chick, she has been named Biggy Smalls. Thank you, Murray McMurray!
We got one Buff Cochin along with our other 26 baby chickens, and she is sooo cute! As one of the nicest chickens, she gets along fine with the others. Since she is so cute, fluffy, cuddly and nice, I had to think hard for the perfect name, and finally came up with Elonway. Thank you Murray McMurray Hatchery!
We absolutely love these birds. They are funny and sweet and very loyal. As you can see from the picture, we even invite "Pecky Omlette" in to watch TV with us sometimes! She loves it and we love her. She just curls up in our arms and is happy as can be. Our Cochins can often be seen either enjoying their free-ranging life, or hanging out at the glass back door staring at us inside. They are docile, quiet, gentle giants -- very tame and very loyal. I've even taken Pecky to "Show and Tell" at a local hospital. She travels great in her carrier in the car. Hope you get a chance to enjoy these fun birds.
Thankyou so much for my wonderful chicks .I ordered 6 in April, and they all arrived in wonderful health. Mine was just a small part of our 4H order. My beautiful Buff Cochin took Best in Breed at the fair, and I took Best Jr. showman, my first year. I am so happy and proud. I will be ordering again this spring.
I love these birds. My pullet won me reserve champion at one of the biggest fairs in my state, and they are very friendly birds. I will definitely order more in the near future!
I ordered a few chickens this year, among them, Buff Cochins. I LOVE these chickens!! I tell everyone they're the chickens wearing bloomers. They will follow you everywhere, and are very sweet.

I ordered some of your Buff Cochins last year, and I have to say they are beautiful and such characters! Friendly, sweet and commical. I can't imagine not having some of these now.
