Butter Blue
NEW! The Butter Blue is a new blue egg laying breed developed by Dr. Tom Whiting for McMurray Hatchery. Like many of our Whiting breeds — the Whiting True Blue, Whiting True Green, and the Cinnamon Hybrid Layer — these hens are great blue egg layers, and not likely to go broody. Butter Blue hens will average 250-280 blue eggs per year that are consistent in both color and size.
Butter Blues are a quick, active and alert birds. These are a smaller-bodied breed that will thrive in a free range or foraging setting.
