Jumbo White Coturnix hens lay nice big eggs. As a meat bird, their white feathers make processing easy, and no dark pin feathers mean a cleaner looking final product. Jumbo Whites are no feather sexable and will need to be vent sexed at 6-8 weeks.

Coturnix are an easy and cost-effective path to self-sufficiency in a small space. Quail begin laying eggs at 8 weeks, or are ready to butcher at 10 weeks. Jumbo White Eggs are around 14.5 grams. Adult Jumbo White Coturnix weigh approximately 13.5 oz. by about 10 weeks.
