Golden Penciled Hamburgs

Good quality HammiesI got some of these last year and they're a delight. I was recently told by some breed experts that my golden hamburg pullets were of good quality and had perfect markings on their breasts. They're very flighty and excellent foragers.

High hopesI was excited to get 5 of these females on my order. They did fine as chicks but I had to put one down when it started to have trouble walking. Another one developed a malformed foot. One has yellow legs instead of the breed standard grey and another is so tiny it would qualify as bantam. One of them turned out to be a rooster but the comb is more like a campine and not Rose comb. I love these little chickens but they are not the quality I was hoping for. They are hard to find so I guess you can't be fussy.
