SAVE ENERGY! Why heat the entire building whan all you want to do is provide warmth for your birds. Radiant heaters heat animals, birds, people, objects not the air around them. What is radiant heat? The sun is an example of a radiant heater. It radiates infared heat waves through space until these rays strike an object, such as the planet Earth. The Earth is warmed by the sun's infrared waves. The warmed Earth then gives off heat to heat the air. This brooder works on the same principal. It warms objects under it and the object gives off heat to warm the air. This high quality commercial grade brooder has a built-in solid-state automatic temperature sensing control. The sensor is suspended below the unit near the chicks to "feel" what the chicks feels. This unit will warm approx; in northern states 240 chicks, 140 turkey poults, 200 pheasants/quail, 12 Ratites in middle states 300 chicks, 180 turkey poults, 260 pheasants/quail, 14 Ratites in southern states 360 chicks, 220 turkey poults, 320 pheasants/quail, 16 Ratites. Comes with a 6 foot cord. 800 watts, 120 volts, 6.7 amps, 35"x6"x6", 8 lbs.
At 4' above the brooder box floor, what is the minimum room temperature that it can maintain 95 degrees F for a 4'x8' brooder?
At 4' from the floor you can expect a 37 Degree temperature rise.
If average height from floor is X, then what is the expectant approximate square footage of covered area? The ad states 300 chicks in the Northern climate: merely looking for the size of brooder/pen for this unit's capability.
Optimum distance between heater and subject usually ranges from 2 to 4 ft. The heat pattern for 2ft about subject is 4.5ft by 4.5 ft. At 3ft above subjects it is 5ft by 7ft. At 4ft above subjects is is 5.5ft by 9.5ft.
