Murray's Best Automatic Coop Door and Controller Replacement Parts

Fantastic—had ours five yearsSaved our marriage! Before door, every night at 11:30pm: "Honey, did you close the chicken coop? No, I thought you did!" With the photovoltaic sensor, it opens and closes automatically. Chickens love it as they get out at sunrise. Install it on the inside and the raccoons can't open it (and I've seen them try).

It opens. That all it doesI honestly cannot say much good about this "improved" model. I owned the previous model and was super pleased with it, which is why I opted to get another for the new coop. So what does this IMPROVED model NOT do that the previous model did. 1. I was able to toggle open/close/auto while inside working on the controller. This model requires someone to cover the sensor to test if working properly. This is a 2 man job since there is no toggle switch on this unit. My sensor is mounted on the exterior of the building that does not have the door on it. So one person covers while the other person works on tweaking the door inside. 2. CANNOT set the door to close at a later time. I live in a wooded area. My door will close before the actual sunset, hence locking my chickens out. I have lost half my flock (above 50 chicks) in the 1.5 months this unit has been up. 3. Cost more than the others that have the options that I absolutely hate about this IMPROVED model. Trust me. This improved model is not the best anymore. Sorry McMurray need to discontinue this model and go back to the older version.

UPDATE: 4 months later --- broken. The wheel the the rope winds up on has fallen off. Will call Murray McMurray in the morning to see if there is a warranty on this controller.
