Dorkings

10 Months OldI ordered 15 Silver Gray Dorkings last year. I did lose 3 within the first two days, but all the others are thriving. My best rooster looks identical to the one you see here, and he is the gentlest, best rooster I have ever had. He watches over the flock very well, and escorts the hens to the laying house. The breed overall is very sweet and gentle -I'm very happy with them. They have been very healthy. They do take awhile to mature and lay, but worth the wait. You should probably plan on losing about 20% due to shipping, based on my experience.

Weak thus farI ordered 7 of these, one male and the rest female, along with a crevecoeur. The dorking chicks arrived weak and out of it, and despite trying to add a tiny bit of sugar or electrolites to the water and staying up until the wee hours of the morning, have been dying since they arrived - I'm down to 4 after suffering from weak birds dying one by one and a prolapse (feeding chick food with a tiny bit of grit), and I'm not optimistic about these ones. I was extremely excited for these birds, but all in all, it's been a rather stressful and unfortunate experience. The crevecoeur and the random chick are both doing fantastic, though.
