Turf Nest Pads

Are the nesting pads dishwasher safe?
We would not suggest putting them in your dishwasher. The instructions say to hose them off.

Are these pads washable? My girls occasionally have an "accident" in their nesting box.

Wouldn't this encourage hens to lay out in the yard if they free range?
The hens like the security of the nest box...they feel safe in the darker area...so the pads won't encourage them to lay outside in the grass.
